Perfect for lips June 29, 2009 Danielle Penny I've been using bag balm for about ten years on my lips. It's the perfect lip gloss. It's not sticky and works well over lipstick. I highly recommend it.
Udderly Fantastic January 5, 2009 Nikon Fan (Kailua, HI USA) This product is great for the various places on one's body that get irritated from water or abrasion. If you work, run, or hike, try Bag Balm once.
I love this stuff! November 11, 2007 Erik Olson (Ridgefield, WA United States) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
My lips have a tendency to chap easily, possibly due to an Accutane treatment regimen for acne back in the early 90s. I experimented with a couple of different lip balms, such as ChapStick, Burt's Bees, and Carmex. But after trying Bag Balm at the suggestion of my mother, I was hooked - it worked better than the other brands.
Mom's family used it a lot on their Minnesota farm, so she always has a big jar of it around the house. However, I gravitate towards the smaller size - it's easier to tote around in the car, store in a bathroom travel kit, or keep in my desk drawer. When I did the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage in Spain during the summer of 2007, I carried two small tins along. In addition to my lips, I used it on heat rashes, abrasions, small cuts, and even on my feet to prevent friction. It seemed to help with healing, or at least didn't aggravate anything.
However, besides my lips, my most important use for Bag Balm was for my nostrils. Sometimes I suffer sudden nosebleeds due to an old septum injury and the subsequent surgeries to fix it. A couple of years ago they came on strong, and were traced to a vulnerable blood vessel in one nostril. Until I had it cauterized, the only way I could stop the blood flow was to pack my nose with Bag Balm. My ear, nose, and throat doctor recommends that I keep the insides of my nose moist, so I use a little bit every night in each nostril.
As I've demonstrated, there are many uses for Bag Balm. Of course, you might want to check with your doctor for competent medical advice - I'm just a layman. But I'll always have some Bag Balm nearby.

I grew up on a farm in Montana. We used this product on the cow's bag to keep them soft and to reduce surface infection and heal surface scapes and cuts. I left the farm many years ago and moved to an area where farm products are rare. My mother recently visited and had a 1 oz Tin in her purse. My granddaughter was suffering from severe diaper rash. In two days this cleared her bottom. I used it on my badly broken and dry heels. In four days they were cleared up.
Super product.
I Love Bag Balm March 8, 2007 Chi girl (Chicago, IL) I first heard about Bag Balm from one of the girls on the MTV reality show Laguna Beach. She said she uses it for her chapped lips. I don't know how often one would get chapped lips in California, but I live in Chicago, and I definitely know what it feels like to have dry, cracked lips to the point of bleeding. Ever since I started using this daily, I have not had to endure that kind of torture. THANK GOODNESS!!! This product is a miracle, and I cannot believe more people have not discovered it. Tried and true since 1899. I have a couple purse size tins to keep on me and other various places. I'm planning to get the 10oz tin to refill.
